We help Kenyan enterprises, institutions, SACCOs and households read their exposures plainly, structure cover against them, and hold an underwriter to the promise when it is finally called upon.
J012 Innovate is a licensed insurance agent, registered under the Insurance Act (Cap. 487) and authorised to place cover across every major class through our appointed IRA-licensed underwriter.
The work begins well before the wording. How does the enterprise actually run? Where does exposure concentrate, and what would a loss truly cost — in replacement, in downtime, in reputation? The policy is the conclusion of that enquiry, never a substitute for it.

Why J012
Programmes drawn from the client's own risk profile — assembled deliberately, never adapted from a schedule written for somebody else.
Commercial, industrial, agricultural, marine, benefits and personal exposures held within a single relationship, so nothing falls between intermediaries.
Candid communication from quotation through servicing to settlement — including the parts of an answer a client would rather not hear.
Bound by the IRA Code of Conduct: commissions disclosed, conflicts declined, the client's interest placed ahead of our own.
Technology
Telemetry on a matatu fleet, sensors on a factory floor, satellite imagery over a shamba — instrumentation is turning assumptions into observations, and observation changes both what cover costs and how quickly it pays.
J012 Innovate Insurance Agency is a licensed insurance agent, registered and regulated by the Insurance Regulatory Authority of Kenya under the Insurance Act (Cap. 487), and authorised to arrange and place business across life, medical, general and specialty lines.
Cover is placed through our appointed, IRA-licensed Kenyan underwriter. The Code of Conduct obliges us to disclose every commission, decline conflicts of interest and act in the client's interest — an obligation that does not vary with the size of the account, whether it belongs to a listed corporation, a growing enterprise or a single household.
To render insurance genuinely affordable and accessible across Kenya, through expertise, skilled people and the disciplined use of technology.
To lead Kenya's insurance market, and to set the standard by which service within it is measured.
The same conduct whether or not anyone is watching.
We own the outcome, not merely the undertaking.
A practice that keeps pace with the instruments available to it.
Understand the enterprise first. Everything else follows from that.
Regulatory
Licensed by the IRA under the Insurance Act (Cap. 487), and registered with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
Four pillars of coverage, priced against sum insured and excess the way Kenyan underwriters actually quote. Select a domain to review the policies within it.
Protection for structures, machinery, equipment and inventory against fire, flood, theft and natural peril disruption.
Safeguarding the personal assets of board members and executives against defence costs and settlement liabilities.
Indemnity for extortion, ransomware, data restoration and regulatory penalties under Kenya's data protection regime.
Cover for the machinery an operation depends on — from the production line to the contractor's yard.
Protection where an operation's conduct, advice or premises causes loss to a third party.
Cover against internal dishonesty, counterparty default and the exposures particular to institutions handling money.
Flexible inpatient, outpatient, maternity and dental structures for employers, SACCOs and chamas, spanning regional East African provider networks.
Statutory Work Injury Benefits Act compliance paired with financial security for families on death or disability.
Safeguarding organisational stability against the loss of vital executives, founders or technical specialists.
Salary continuation and lump-sum benefits when illness or injury interrupts an employee's earning capacity.
Provision for obligations that fall due long after the current financial year, structured for staff retention.
Cover for staff moving across the region and beyond, from routine trips to extended postings.
Transit cover for sea, air and overland freight, aligned with Mombasa Port practice and Northern Corridor trade routes.
Protecting Kenyan farming — from a Rift Valley tea or coffee estate to a smallholder's shamba — against drought, crop loss and livestock disease.
Structural insurance for civil engineering projects, commercial developments and infrastructure works.
Cover for the vessel itself and for the liabilities that follow it, on inland waters and at sea.
Specialised cover for fuel handling, distribution infrastructure and pressurised plant.
For perishable value — where a failed compressor overnight is a total loss by morning.
From the family saloon to a PSV route or a boda boda fleet feeding the last mile, with a claims team that follows every repair through.
Buildings, contents and the liabilities that attach to a household and those who work within it.
Worldwide all-risks cover for jewellery, fine art, collections and antiques — possessions rarely valued in money alone.
Provision for the dependants who would otherwise carry the shortfall, placed through licensed long-term insurers.
Disciplined provision for school fees and university, with the premium protected should the earner not survive the term.
Cover for journeys abroad and for the accidents that occur closer to home.
For a century, insurance priced the average and inspected the aftermath. Instruments have since become cheap, and risk has become legible — measurable as it unfolds rather than reconstructed once it has.
Conventional cover rests on proxies. A fleet is rated by the number of vehicles rather than how they are driven; a plant by its replacement value rather than the condition of its bearings; a consignment by declared worth rather than the temperature it actually held. Every proxy conceals both the careful operator and the reckless one — and the careful operator pays the difference.
Instrumentation dissolves that averaging, and changes three things at once: what a risk costs, how quickly a loss is settled, and whether cover can reach people it previously could not.
Applied across the book
Not a single product line, but a method applied wherever exposure can be measured.
Harsh braking, night exposure, route and dwell time. Fleets rated on conduct rather than headcount — with the data doubling as a loss-prevention brief for the transport manager.
Vibration, thermal and power-quality sensing on critical machinery. Breakdown cover becomes a conversation about the failure averted, not only the one indemnified.
Geolocation and cold-chain telemetry across the Northern Corridor. A temperature breach is timestamped as it happens, which shortens the argument over where liability sits.
Rainfall, wind, yield and seismic indices as the trigger. Settlement follows a measurement rather than an inspection — decisive where an assessor's visit would cost more than the premium.
Satellite and GIS layers across insured locations, exposing accumulation a schedule conceals: the flood plain, the fire corridor, the three warehouses sharing one substation.
Anonymised, aggregated utilisation across a medical scheme. Renewal becomes evidence-led, and chronic-care intervention is directed where the data says it will matter.
An exposure that scarcely existed when most Kenyan schedules were drafted. As operations digitise, cover must follow the dependency rather than the building.
Mobile onboarding, profiling and premium collection — the mechanism by which micro and group cover becomes viable for cooperatives, SACCOs and informal enterprise.
First notification from a handset, documentation captured at source, status visible throughout. Administrative delay disappears; advocacy does not.
Research & partnerships
J012 belongs to a group that builds this technology rather than procures it — which means we can interrogate the data a product depends on before we place it.
Intermediaries are easy to reach at inception and harder to find afterwards. We take the opposite view: the claim is where the relationship earns its keep.
Contact the claims desk as soon as the incident occurs. Prompt notification preserves the claim; delay is the commonest reason cover is contested.
Policy number, circumstances and supporting evidence. We set out precisely what the insurer requires, so nothing returns for a second attempt.
Correspondence with insurer, assessor and repairer is conducted on your behalf — and pressed when it stalls.
Progress is reported as it occurs, through to settlement, without the client having to ask.
Requirements differ by insurer and by class; these are the customary starting points. The definitive list is confirmed the moment you notify us.
A J012 Innovate advisor will contact you shortly. If it is urgent, call +254 757 589037.
Describe what needs protecting. An advisor will respond with the questions worth answering before any premium is quoted.
